The Georgia Association of Educators Fund for Public Education (GAE-FPE) Committee Endorses Kevin LevitasAgain!
ATLANTA, GA --- July 6, 2006 --- The Georgia Association of Educators Fund for Public Education
Members of the Georgia Association of Educators (GAE) have again declared their support for Kevin Levitas. In endorsing Kevin’s candidacy for the Georgia General Assembly, GAE noted Kevin's "commitment to continuing to improve of Georgia's public schools." The group expressed support for Kevin's ideas about how to properly fund schools, implement effective reforms, attract and retain quality teachers, improve student achievement, reduce class-size ratios, enhance school and bus safety and promote a return to emphasizing fundamental skills.
The GAE noted that “Kevin Levitas will work incredibly hard to make sure that every child has an equal opportunity for a quality education in Georgia’s public schools.”
ATLANTA, GA --- April 24, 2006 ---Businessman and former DeKalb County Assistant District Attorney Kevin Levitas was the first to qualify today for election to a seat in the Georgia House of Representatives in 2006. A razor-thin 136-vote margin (0.6% of the nearly 20,000 votes cast) separated Levitas from his opponent in the 2004 election for Georgia House District 82. In qualifying for the July 18 Primary, Levitas, a Democrat, said he is eager to continue his grassroots effort. House District 82 includes communities in Briarlake, Brockett, Embry Hills, Evansdale, Henderson Mill, Heritage, Lakeside, Livsey, Midvale, Northlake, Oak Grove, Pleasantdale and Tucker.
